Google Tests TV Search Service

Google is testing new search service that will connect the television and the Internet. The new service will allow Dish Network users to search online content for videos or shows from sites like YouTube. It will run on Internet-connected set-top boxes, that will have Android operating system.
The test has started last year, but was limited inly to few Google employees and their families.
Surveys has shown that people would like to be able to search web on their TVs. Google is not the first one to run service like this. Microsoft and Apple offer their services that use set-top boxes to search web-based content.
In my opinion, the demand on these types of services is growing and soon television and the Internet will be inseparable. I know from my own experience that there are already many devices offering browsing web on big TV screens. For example Play Station 3 has wi-fi access to the wireless network or many new TV producers offer wi-fi adapters for their TVs that allow to connect TV to home network.
