We didn't have to wait much until Apple's new tablet device, iPad attracted hackers' attention. It lasted only one weekend and today a group that is the author of a method of jailbreaking iPhone, jail broke iPad. They used an exploit in Web browser Safari to gain root access to the device.
During weekend Twitter user "MuscleNerd" suggested that iPad can be jailbroken, and published a video showing how to get root access to the tablet. He also wrote that the unreleased version of iPad may be jailbroken the same way.
In my opinion, jailbreaking is a good thing and it allows the user install applications that are not permitted by Apple. These application are often very useful and upgrade the device. For instance, there are applications, and plugins that allow play flash content on websites. I find it handful, although it has some risk with it. Jailbreaking means loosing warranty, so it is always better to think about it before doing it.
